About Us

Mentoring Eco Artisans for the Future

EHF currently undertakes workshop programmes, conducts research, offers artistic consultancy services, and provides a platform for linkages by different co-op communities and collectives nurtured by it. We enable collectives to develop and nurture innovative ideas for dignified, sustainable, and peaceful co-living.

Our Objective

  1. To experiment on local sustainable models to conserve the environment and ensure sustainable and resilient lifestyles in urban and rural communities.
  2. To research the status of the society and environment and enable systems to preserve the environment through cultural art practice, studies, demonstrable models, experiments, educational material, publications, and digital contents.
  3. To incubate and innovate on community interventions.

Our Collective Story

EHF was born out of the Jaladarsha Collective formed in Kolkata in March 2019. The collective was formed from the need to respond to emerging climate problems and to bring back conversations on nature and culture. Made up of 13 members who find holism in field work rather than white-collar roundtables. The cohort is a non-binary assemblage of theatre practitioners, writers, artists, singers, researchers, and community process workers from myriad walks of life.

We are currently housed inside a modest working hub in Kolkata, which is a brainstorming, group discussion, and archiving pad for the members and the associates.

EHF continues to find professional ways to support the collective.
