Eco Hive Foundation was registered as a Section 8 Company in 2022.
In 2019 we were a collective of artists, performers, community process workers working closely on climate justice issues through an intersectional approach. https://www.instagram.com/jaladarshaplatform/
EHF currently undertakes workshop programmes, conducts research, offers artistic services, and provides a platform for linkages by different livelihood initiatives of communities and grassroot collectives nurtured by it. We enable collectives to develop and nurture innovative ideas for dignified, sustainable and peaceful co-living.
Why we exist
To innovate and experiment
on local sustainable models to conserve the environment and ensure sustainable and resilient lifestyles in urban and rural communities.
To evaluate and research
the status of the society and environment and enable systems to protect, conserve and preserve the environment through cultural art practice, studies, demonstrable models and experiments, education material, publications and digital material.
To encourage, assist, and extend
knowledge and training to incubate social and environmental initiatives for youth, community-based organisations/co-ops/collectives/leaders/ and children working on environmental well-being.
We focus on transformative leadership journeys for individuals, emphasising confidence-building and self-expression as we nurture collectives.
Our Philosophy
The foundation believes in nurturing and hosting spaces that are inclusive and diverse and held together with the feminist ethics of care. By the feminist ethics of care we reclaim ‘care’ from a private, devalued sentiment into a public, political necessity and a form of labour essential to all life.
These caring spaces that we wish to create are inclusive, peaceful, with working on freer democratic and more equal relationships, focusing on lived experiences of the marginalised and the importance of voice, and moving from patriarchal dominant structures to a freer society.
Our ethics are rooted in intersectionality and collective care.
Conservation & Rejuvenation
At Ecohive Foundation, we believe conservation and rejuvenation are collective practices of care. Through ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, and community-led initiatives, we work towards nurturing resilient ecosystems and sustainable futures.
Our work brings together environmental stewardship, sustainable livelihoods, and local knowledge systems to restore and strengthen the relationships between people, communities, and the environments they inhabit. By fostering collaborative and sustainable practices, we seek to create pathways for ecological well-being, climate resilience, and meaningful co-living for both people and the planet.
Environmental Research
Ecohive undertakes interdisciplinary environmental research exploring climate change, biodiversity, water systems, agroecology, food cultures, and sustainable futures. Our work brings together scientific inquiry, indigenous knowledge systems, and community-led practices to create meaningful and locally responsive approaches towards environmental stewardship.
